Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction
​

These Terms & Conditions govern the booking and participation in all outdoor activities and experiences offered by Zambezi River Outfitters. By booking an activity with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full.

2. Bookings
​

  • All bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance

  • A booking is only confirmed once full payment has been received

  • You will receive a booking confirmation via email after successful payment

  • Please ensure all personal details provided at booking are accurate and complete

​

3. Payment
​

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking

  • We accept credit card, debit card, QR code and mobile money payments via DPO Group (Direct Pay Online)

  • All prices are listed in [USD] 

  • All transactions are processed securely — we do NOT store your card details

​

4. Cancellation Policy
​

Cancelled by the Customer:

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the activity:
    → 50% refund will be issued

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the activity:
    → No refund will be issued

  • No-show (customer does not arrive without notice):
    → No refund will be issued

​

Cancelled by Zambezi River Outfitters:

  • If we cancel due to bad weather or safety concerns:
    → We will offer a reschedule to an alternative date
    → If rescheduling is not possible, a full refund will be issued

  • We reserve the right to cancel any activity if conditions are deemed unsafe

​

5. Rescheduling
​

  • Customers may request to reschedule up to 24 hours before the activity at no extra charge

  • Rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the activity cannot be guaranteed and may be treated as a cancellation

​

6. Participation & Health Requirements
​

  • Participants must be in good physical health suitable for outdoor activities

  • It is your responsibility to inform us of any medical conditions, disabilities or allergies prior to booking

  • We reserve the right to refuse participation if we believe a participant's health or fitness may put themselves or others at risk

  • Minimum age requirements apply to certain activities and will be clearly stated on the relevant activity page

7. Liability & Risk
​

  • All outdoor activities involve an element of physical risk

  • Zambezi River Outfitters takes all reasonable precautions to ensure your safety

  • By booking, you acknowledge that you participate at your own risk

  • Zambezi River Outfitters is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in activities, except where caused by our proven negligence

  • Participants may be required to sign an additional liability waiver before participating

8. Behaviour & Safety
​

  • All participants must follow the instructions of our guides at all times

  • We reserve the right to remove any participant from an activity without refund if their behaviour endangers themselves or others

  • Consumption of excessive alcohol or drugs before or during activities is strictly prohibited

​

9. Wildlife, River Safety & Activities
​

Our property is situated directly on the riverbank within a natural wilderness environment. The river and surrounding area are inhabited by wild animals, including but not limited to hippopotamuses (hippos), Nile crocodiles, and other wildlife. These animals are unpredictable, potentially life-threatening, and are not under the control of Zambezi River Outfitters.

The river itself presents additional serious natural hazards, including strong currents, rapids, and unpredictable water conditions. Zambezi River Outfitters offers a range of activities including, but not limited to, white water rafting and mokoro tours. These activities take place in a natural wilderness environment and involve inherent risks that cannot be fully eliminated.

By completing a booking, you confirm that you:

​

  • Voluntarily choose to participate in any activities entirely at your own risk

  • Acknowledge that all activities take place in a natural environment with unpredictable wildlife and river conditions

  • Understand that Zambezi River Outfitters and its owners, directors, employees, guides, and agents cannot guarantee your safety during any activity

  • Release and hold harmless Zambezi River Outfitters and its owners, directors, employees, guides, and agents from any and all liability, claims, damages, or losses — including serious injury or death — arising from participation in any activity, wildlife encounters, or river conditions

  • Confirm that you are of legal age and have the authority to accept these terms on behalf of yourself and any accompanying guests, including minors in your care​

10. Personal Belongings
​

  • Zambezi River Outfitters is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings during activities

  • We recommend leaving valuables at your accommodation

​

11. Force Majeure
​

  • We are not liable for cancellations or changes caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:

    • Extreme weather conditions

    • Natural disasters

    • Government restrictions

    • Safety emergencies

  • In such cases, we will offer a reschedule where possible, or a full refund if rescheduling is not possible

 
12. Photography & Media
​

  • Zambezi River Outfitters may take photos or videos during activities for promotional purposes

  • If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform us before the activity begins

  • By participating without objection, you grant us permission to use such media for marketing purposes

 
13. Changes to These Terms
​

  • We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time

  • Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date

  • Continued use of our booking system constitutes acceptance of the updated terms
